The Official List of iOS 26 Compatible iPhone Models

After months of speculation and rumors, Apple officially kicked off its WWDC 2025 keynote , with a strong focus on AI-powered features and a major redesign dubbed “Liquid Glass.”

At the heart of the event was iOS 26 , the next-generation operating system set to redefine the user experience for iPhone owners. Alongside the reveal, Apple shared the list of devices that will support the new software update.

Here’s the full list of iPhone models compatible with iOS 26 :

  • iPhone 16e
  • iPhone 16 / 16 Plus / 16 Pro / 16 Pro Max
  • iPhone 15 / 15 Plus / 15 Pro / 15 Pro Max

Users who own any of these iPhones can expect the first public beta of iOS 26 to arrive next month through the Apple Beta Software Program . Developers already have access via the Apple Developer Program , and the official stable release is expected this September , likely alongside the launch of the iPhone 17 series .

⚠️ End of Support for Older Models

This compatibility list also marks the end of the road for some older iPhone models. The iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR will no longer receive full feature updates, although they may still get limited security patches to keep them safe from emerging threats.

🧠 A Major Leap Forward

Apple described iOS 26 as “our broadest design update ever,” highlighting a fresh visual language and deep integration of its new Apple Intelligence platform across nearly every part of the OS. This signals a shift toward more intelligent, context-aware experiences built directly into the user interface.

While early impressions are based on Apple’s presentation and developer betas, real-world feedback will start rolling in once the public beta lands next month .
