To make a request, you hold down the DJ button in the app, wait for the beep, and say something like, “Play some chill jazz for the evening” or “Surprise me with some new indie tracks.” Artificial intelligence, powered by Spotify and OpenAI, analyzes your listening history and preferences to create a unique playlist in real time. The DJ’s voice, modeled after Xavier “X” Jernigan, a former Spotify podcast host, adds commentary to the tracks, enhancing the live radio effect.
