The launch is scheduled for May 19-20

The upcoming ninth test flight of SpaceX’s Starship transport system will be shown in detail for the first time in a live 4K broadcast, Elon Musk has confirmed. The flight window for Starship Flight 9 is set between May 13 and 23, with the flight scheduled for May 19-20, with May 20 being the most realistic date.

The flight will involve a prototype of Starship’s upper stage, Ship 35, and a booster called Super Heavy 14, the lower stage. Previous tests have shown a successful landing of the lower stage, but have been plagued by problems such as vibrations and fuel leaks.

The flight was originally scheduled for an earlier date, but was delayed until May 20 due to problems with the new upper stage, which exploded during previous tests. Despite the setbacks, SpaceX has resumed testing and is committed to fixing the problems on the upcoming flight, something that Musk and the Coast Guard have confirmed.
