Say Goodbye to Messy Group Chats – WhatsApp Threads Are Here for iOS

A new beta version of WhatsApp for iOS (25.19.10.80) has revealed that Meta is working on bringing threaded message replies to iPhone users. While this feature has already been spotted in Android beta builds, this is the first time it’s appeared in the iOS version — a sign that Apple users won’t be left behind much longer.

The goal of threaded replies is simple: to help users better organize conversations, especially in busy group chats where multiple discussions can easily get mixed together.

According to reports from WABetaInfo , the feature is still in active development and hasn’t yet been rolled out to beta testers for wide testing. However, screenshots suggest it’s already functional behind the scenes, and we could see it become available for public testing soon.

How Threaded Replies Will Work on WhatsApp

Threaded replies aren’t new to messaging — apps like Slack have had them for years. In WhatsApp, tapping on a specific message will reveal a small indicator showing how many replies are part of that thread. Tapping the indicator opens a dedicated view where you can follow or add to the conversation without disrupting the main chat.

And it’s not just for group chats. The feature will also work in:

  • One-on-one messages
  • Communities
  • Channels

This means no matter where you’re chatting, keeping track of different conversations within the same thread will be easier than ever.

Why This Matters for WhatsApp Users

For users who participate in large or fast-moving group chats, this update should make things significantly clearer. Instead of scrolling endlessly to find related messages, threaded replies will keep everything neatly grouped and accessible.

It should also reduce confusion when multiple people are talking about different topics at the same time — a common pain point in today’s WhatsApp group experience.

When Will It Be Available?

As of now, the feature is still under development and hasn’t reached most beta testers yet. If you’re using the stable version of WhatsApp, you’ll likely have to wait a bit longer before seeing it on your device.

There’s no official release date, but given how far along the development appears to be, it may not be too long before threaded replies arrive for all iOS users.
