Samsung One UI 8 Adds Stronger App Security with KEEP
Samsung has unveiled a major security upgrade in its upcoming One UI 8 , introducing a new feature called Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) . This enhancement is set to roll out with the next wave of Galaxy smartphones, offering users stronger control over how their personal data is stored and accessed by apps.
KEEP creates isolated, encrypted storage spaces that are specific to each app. This means sensitive information — like passwords, payment details, and biometric data — stays locked within the app it belongs to. Other apps won’t be able to access or interfere with that data, adding an important layer of privacy and protection.

KEEP works hand-in-hand with Knox Vault , Samsung’s hardware-based security system, to ensure even deeper protection. Together, they guard against tampering and unauthorized access at the chip level — making it far more difficult for hackers to compromise your device.
Knox Matrix Gets Smarter and More Proactive
Another major improvement in One UI 8 is the evolution of Knox Matrix , Samsung’s blockchain-inspired security framework. Designed to protect interconnected Galaxy devices, this updated system becomes more proactive in identifying and responding to threats.
If a connected device is flagged as high risk, it will now automatically sign out of the Samsung Account to stop potential threats from spreading to other trusted devices. Users will also receive real-time alerts across all linked Galaxy devices, directing them to the “Security Status of Your Devices” page where they can take immediate action.
Even older devices that haven’t received the latest update yet will still benefit — they’ll be able to trigger warnings if suspicious activity is detected.

Samsung is also upgrading Secure Wi-Fi with post-quantum cryptography , building on the Post-Quantum Enhanced Data Protection (EDP) introduced with the Galaxy S25. This step helps future-proof your data by protecting encryption keys from being broken by powerful quantum computers down the line.
