PlayStation 6 to Get 24GB of Video Memory and AI Features

We just have to wait for the announcement in 2027-2028

Sony may equip the next PlayStation 6 gaming console with a record 24GB of video memory and new AI features.

According to Digital Foundry, this amount of memory is needed to support machine learning and algorithms similar to the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) used in the current PS5 Pro models.

The PS6 is expected to use chips with AMD’s 3D stack technology, developed as part of Project Amethyst. This technology is likely to be a key component of the new console, providing improved resolution scaling, sharper graphics, and lower latency.

While the exact specifications of the PS6 have not yet been revealed, analysts suggest that the console will not be fully digital, but will retain support for physical discs. An official announcement of the new platform could take place in the coming years, with a release closer to 2028, given Sony’s traditional console refresh cycle.
