iPhone 18 Pro to Get Under Screen Face ID and Corner Camera

It will look neater

Apple is preparing significant changes for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, which will be released in September 2026. According to The Information, the new models will receive Face ID technology hidden under the screen. Instead of the usual Dynamic Island – the area hiding the Face ID sensors – there will be only a small round cutout for the front camera in the upper left corner, like in modern Android flagships.

Face ID is a facial recognition system that uses infrared sensors for secure unlocking and payments. Moving it under the display will help bring Apple closer to its dream of a completely bezel-less screen. Analyst Ross Young previously confirmed that the technology will debut in 2026, although it was originally expected in the iPhone 17 Pro. It is unclear whether the Dynamic Island will disappear completely or become smaller.
