Set at the beginning of James Bond’s career as the legendary MI6 operative, 007 First Light will explore his origins through an original story inspired by Ian Fleming’s novels and the iconic James Bond film franchise .
IO Interactive, known for its deep narrative-driven gameplay in titles like Hitman , is aiming high with this project. The studio’s CEO, Hakan Abrak , has already expressed hopes that the game will be successful enough to launch a trilogy , not just a single title.
“I just hope we’ll do a thing that will define James Bond in gaming for years to come,” Abrak said last year. “Not only one game, but that we create a universe for gamers to own for many years to come.”
Although no gameplay footage has been released yet, it’s already confirmed that 007 First Light will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 . It’s also expected to arrive on PC , PlayStation 5 , and Xbox Series X|S , following the studio’s usual multi-platform approach.
Fans are eagerly waiting for more details — especially during the upcoming IOI Showcase.
