Asus Boosts Gaming Lineup: RTX 5060 Laptops Arrive Alongside Cooler TUF A14
While Asus isn’t rolling out major redesigns for its gaming laptops at Computex , the company is updating several models with Nvidia’s latest RTX 50-series GPUs . The ROG Strix G16 , Zephyrus G14 , and various TUF Gaming laptops — including the F16, A16 , and A18 — are now available with the RTX 5060 .
One of the more notable tweaks is to the TUF A14 , which sees improvements in both power delivery and cooling. Asus claims the system can now reach 130W total power (35W CPU + 95W GPU) in Manual Mode , though earlier specs suggest similar potential in other modes. Additionally, a new keyboard-integrated air intake has been added to improve thermal performance and reduce surface temperatures during long sessions.
The Strix G16 offers configurations with either an Intel Core i7-14650HX or AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX , paired with the RTX 5060. Both versions come with 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD , and a QHD (1920×1200) display — the Intel variant offering Wi-Fi 7 at 144Hz , and the AMD one Wi-Fi 6E at 165Hz . Pricing starts at $1,499.99 for the Intel model (on Amazon), and $1,599.99 for the AMD version (available at Walmart).
The Zephyrus G14 is a more natural fit for the RTX 5060 , thanks to its lower power limits — topping out at 110W TGP . For $1,799.99 at Best Buy, Asus offers a model equipped with the Ryzen AI 9 270 , 16GB RAM , and 1TB SSD . An older variant with the Ryzen 9 8945HS and RTX 5060 remains available at $1,599.99 , though buyers can upgrade all the way to the RTX 5080 — which may be overkill given the system’s thermal limits.
Meanwhile, the TUF Gaming series makes sense as a budget-friendly home for the RTX 5060. The TUF F16 pairs the GPU with Intel’s 14th Gen processors and a Full HD 165Hz display , starting at $1,539.99 in June. The TUF A18 , featuring the Ryzen 7 260 , will launch later in August at $1,599.99 via Costco.
Asus has also positioned the RTX 5070 Ti as a sweet spot for performance upgrades on compatible models like the Strix and Zephyrus — offering a solid jump from the previous generation, without the sky-high pricing of the top-tier RTX 5080 or 5090.
Asus unveiled the ROG Bulwark , a versatile docking station designed primarily for the ROG Ally handheld, though it’s fully compatible with other devices like phones, laptops, or rival handhelds. The dock features an adjustable stand that lets you position your device at any angle between 0 and 90 degrees for optimal viewing.
It comes packed with ports, including a 3.5mm headphone jack , three USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) ports, Ethernet , HDMI 2.1 , and two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) ports — one of which connects to your device via an included right-angle USB-C cable . The Bulwark supports 4K output at 144Hz , whether you’re using the standard ROG Ally or the Ally X.
